An Electrical Installation Condition Report Explained

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will detail any Observations and Recommendations as identified by the engineer during the course of the inspection. The engineers observations will determine what codes are recorded on your report.

The codes (and what they mean) that you might see on your report are as follows:

  • C1 (Danger Present, Risk of Injury. Immediate Remedial Action Required)
  • C2 (Potentially Dangerous, Urgent Remedial Action Required),
  • C3 (Improvement Recommended
  • FI (Further Investigation Required without delay)

These codes will determine whether the electrics are deemed to be SATISFACTORY or UNSATISFACTORY.

Appointment

Certificate(s) Issued

Once the assessor or engineer has attended your property in order to complete the assessment/inspection, the report/certificate will be produced. Your report/certificate will usually be produced and uploaded within 24-48 hours of the appointment taking place.
